Automation should make review stronger, not smaller
Why traceability, clear assumptions, and professional responsibility remain central to modern plan production.
Automation is valuable when it removes repetitive work without hiding the decisions that matter. In traffic-control planning, that means a faster draft should also be easier to question and verify.
Traceability is part of that promise. Reviewers need to see the assumptions behind a recommendation, the evidence carried into a plan, and the places where engineering judgment is still required.
Modern tools should give professionals more time for thoughtful review, not ask them to accept an opaque answer. That is the standard we are building toward with Road Drafter.
